I’m a huge fan of swimming and Bikram yoga right now – they make great mobility WODs and fuel my craving for active recovery days!
I’m always searching for new things to try but it’s often difficult find activities on the fly that a) fit my schedule and b) don’t require costly long term memberships.
So I discovered this great new app called ‘Sportaneous’. The app discovers & lets you book fitness classes in your area without the need for long term memberships or commitment. You can search for what’s happening in your area ‘right now’ (if you want to be ‘sportaneous’) or search for activities on a specific date and time.
There are dozens of gyms, studios and groups hooked up to the app including CrossFit, yoga, Pilates, kick boxing, swimming, dance, spinning and bootcamp – something for everybody in every mood. You can also share activities with friends.
I used the app this weekend and discovered a swimming pool 7 blocks from my house that I never knew was there! Brilliant! Swim WOD anyone?!
I’m a huge fan of this app. It’s a great to discover something new and give it a whirl without commitment.
