Let’s put aside the fancy twitter quotes about ‘failures are
stepping stones for successes’ for a second and get real.
You failed.
I’m sorry.
That sucks.
Here’s 8 steps to deal with it and get back on track asap.
1. Get
the hell out of there
Get out of the gym. You’re in a foul mood. Anything you do from here on out is doomed.

2. Let
it all out
It’s perfectly normal to feel well and truly hacked off. Just for a moment or two, it’s ok to say screw you to the power of positive thinking and be angry and frustrated, stamp your feet and curse words that would make toes curl. (Just wait until you've left the gym – it’s not pretty.)

3. Cook
up some Bacon
Bacon makes everything better.

4. Think worst case & admit it’s not that bad
So you didn't lift 300# today. Worse case scenario? Your mom has to help you open a pickle jar tonight. No biggie. Nobody is dying.

5. Have
a word with yourself
Accept it. It’s done. Let it go.
Accept it. It’s done. Let it go.
6. Congratulate yourself
You took a risk. Anything worth doing runs the risk of failure. Cook more bacon if necessary. Bacon is essential for all moments of celebration and commiseration.

7. Tweet
an inspirational quote or two
Introduce a little positivity back into the game. “Stepping stones to success…” or something along those lines.

8. Get feel good WOD in
Get back to the gym and make up a WOD of all the stuff you like – the stuff you’re
really good at. This is not a WOD about performance; it’s a WOD about making
you feel good. Pick a medium size weight not too heavy, not too light - then crush
it.
Then, and only then will you be ready to come back fighting and kick that scrawny little barbells ass. Go get it tiger.
