1. They’ve got standards
They won’t stare at their barbells, they won’t over think it, they just do it. Kids got some guts. Bulletproof.
Ever watch a small child drop something on the floor then squat down and pick it up? Chest up, butt back, knees out, breaking parallel, bounce off the bottom, driving the hips and explode up! The squat is their natural, instinctive movement. Kids got standards. No reps? No problem.
2. They’ve got guts
Kids play in the present moment - confident and courageous. They have no fear of negative consequences, no fear of failure, no fear of injury.
They won’t stare at their barbells, they won’t over think it, they just do it. Kids got some guts. Bulletproof.
3. They get over it. Then they get on with it
Kids fall down. They bang their knees and they scrape their shins. They don’t sit around and dwell on their mishaps or their failures. They get up, dust off and get on with it. Warriors.
4. They don’t care what you think
Unconcerned with the color of your onsie or the flavor of your milk. They don’t care what you think. They don’t care if you’re fat or if you’re thin. They’re comfortable in their own skin. No concept of envy or inferiority. No judgment.
5. They are intrigued, not intimidated by the unknown
Kids are naturally willing to experiment with unknown - they live to explore and discover. They have no fear in trying something new, because everything is new and potentially awesome. They get stuck in and have a go. Curiosity killed the cat – never the CrossFitter.
6. They run a pretty smart schedule
They don’t eat because they’re bored, or unhappy they eat when they’re hungry – when their body signals for food. They burn energy with play and they rest when they are done. Eat, play, sleep, repeat.
7. All fun, smiles & laughter
Remember the days when life was nothing but joy? When there were no worries and woes? All game face, fun, smiles, and laughter. You won’t be asked to check that at the door.
Imagine a CrossFitter with standards, guts, no fear or judgment. Unafraid of the unknown, with a flawless training regimen, all fun smiles and laughter?
Yeah, they’d kick your ass wouldn’t they.
