Standards

The ability to crank out one more rep rarely has much to do with strength, conditioning or endurance. It's all in the mind. One more rep is always possible.

I’m not saying it’s smart, I’m just saying that it’s possible.

Pushing to failure often sacrifices range of motion, good technique and form. Stopping with one or two left in the tank lessens recovery time and increases the chances of each rep being legit.

That’s smart training.

So what if the dude next to you strings together 50 sub-standard reps. Sleep well tonight knowing that one day, Bobby (the no rep Jedi) will hunt them down, he will find them and make them do it over again.

Standards. Get some.
