I mean, let's be real for a second.
I pay $200 a month to work out on average between 4 and 7 minutes in a big empty room with no windows, in which people swim in their own sweat and occasionally vomit. Oh, and Lululemon ain't cheap either.
If this was 24 Hour Fitness, for much less than half the price, there'd be a cool breeze of air conditioning, coffee cup holders on the squat racks, personal tv's fixed to the pull up rig, book racks on the barbells and someone handing out free granola bars between reps.
Why don't I get back to 24 Hour Fitness then?
SMH...
I've heard a lot of people complain a bit about the price of crossfit. It actually makes me laugh. Think about it. You pay that 40 dollars a month for a membership at 24 hour fitness or ballys. What do you do when you're there? Probably just hop on the elliptical for a few and call it a day. Right? I'll admit that's what I was a few months ago. The girl that ran 6 miles a day outside and any time I stepped into my 'gym' I felt like a lost Jack ass. You get what you pay for. At 24 hour fitness they may have group classes but theyre really not that exciting, and some even make you pay extra for each class. Then look into the price of personal training. Which is basically just a babysitter that runs you through machines that only work out isolated muscles and the trainer is probably busy on his phone or flirting with the firl on the elliptical across the room. You'll pay close to 200 a week for that.
ReplyDeleteSo yeah crossfit is generally in the 140 - 200 dollar range, but think about what you are getting out of it. You get trainers that actually know what they're talking about, who actually care, real equipment, accountability, structure, and some kick ass people to hang out with.
I think its worth every penny. Crossfit has become my secret club, the drive behind the whispers of "what has that girl been doing, my my". And I wouldn't change it for the world. Anyway, there's my soap box!
Amen! Well said! You get way more than you pay for. Can't put a price tag on health and happiness!!
